‘Eve’ the giant pumpkin.

Meet ‘Eve’ This Saturday: Grown in Canowindra, ‘Eve’ the giant pumpkin weighs in at around 340kg and has a cir­cumference of 360cms. She is all set to participate in the Street Parade at the bal­loon festival on Saturday and if you’d like to meet her in person, she’ll be on display in the main street after the parade.

Looking For Volunteers – Get Involved! The Canowindra Historical Society Muse­um needs a hand, and they’d love yours. Whether you’re into meeting people, or­ganising things, or even writing a book or an article for Facebook or the website, there’s something for everyone to do. Don’t worry – they will provide all the training and support you need. It’s a great way to get involved (especially for newcomers to the town). You’ll be making a real differ­ence to Canowindra’s tourism offering, and help share our town’s unique story with the world. Email canowindrahistorical@gmail.com or call in on their open days.

Raffle Winner: Canowindra Creative Cen­tre Inc (CCC) wish to thank everyone who assisted with their raffle on Saturday, 26 April and to everyone who purchased tick­ets. Jen Thomas of Canowindra was the winner of the $50 Open Order for any busi­ness in Canowindra. Jen has chosen IGA to spend her winnings. Congratulations and thank you to all involved.

Community Appointments With The Mayor: Cabonne Mayor Kevin Beatty will visit Canowindra in May to meet with resi­dents and community groups about any is­sues they may wish to discuss. Cr Beatty will be available at the Canowindra Library on Thursday, 15 May between 10am and 1pm. Residents or community groups wishing to speak the Mayor should book a time by calling the General Manager’s Personal Assistant on 6392 3208 or email council@cabonne.nsw.gov.au, including a brief description of the topic you would like to discuss.
