on Saturday 12 April, local couple Bruce and Margo Capps joined 319 other vintage trucks for the popular ‘Haulin the Hume’ road run.
With lots of smoke and noise these relics of yester years transport industry attract plenty of attention with some fans even camping out to secure the best vantage points to see the old girls huff and puff their way south.
Starting in Sydney and following the old Hume Highway where ever possible the convoy of trucks wiggled their way though old villages and historic locations to Gundagai for an overnight stay and then returned the following day.
This 1956 AR110 International was a local piece of equipment its whole working life, being bought new by Belubula farmer David Cullane.
Still in its ‘working clothes’ almost everything apart from cab and chassis has been upgraded or replaced enabling its return to active duty. To look the part she takes on the appearance of a breakdown vehicle for the run, which was a common sight in days gone by.
