Cargo To Grenfell Walk: On Thursday 3 March Toby Stephens and Brock Picker completed day one of the annual Cargo to Grenfell Walk. They walked 24km from Cargo to Canowindra to raise funds for the headstrong foundation. The highlight of the day for the boys was talking to other participants and finishing in four and a half hours.

Rainbow Festival Pride Party: Orange’s most colourful celebration is about to hit new heights, with the Rainbow Festival Pride Party set to light up McNamara Street this Saturday 22 March, 5pm – 10pm with the incomparable Joel Creasey guiding the night’s festivities. Musical acts include ARIA nominated Odette and up and coming electro-pop duo Sumner with a DJ set. Closing out the evening is DJ Jimi the Kween, spinning crowd favourites and dance anthems.

Swim Season Extension: Council is pleased to announce that the swim season for Unsupervised Pools Program pass holders will be extended until Saturday, 12 April 2025. This extension provides additional opportunities for community members to access the pool and continue their swimming activities beyond the standard season. Calling All Fossil Enthusiasts! The Age of Fishes Museum Association will be hosting a special presentation by Dr Alice Clement of Flinders University on the Devonian Age of Fishes: an Australian perspective. Alice is an evolutionary biologist and palaeontologist, leading VAMP at Flinders University to create a Virtual Australian Museum of Palaeontology. She also advocates for women in STEM. There will be a fossil identification table set up on the night, so don’t forget to bring along your own small fossil. Head along to the Canowindra Bowling Club on Monday, 14 April at 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Tickets are just $15 and include the presentation, grazing boxes, and the chance for an expert to look at your fossil.
