Women’s Bowls

The Canowindra Women’s Bowling Club held their presentation day on Tuesday 3rd December. Award recipients for 2024 were:

• Major Singles: Gwen Haydon; Runner-up Libby Balcombe

• Minor Singles: Sharon Wynn; Runner-up Cristy Sullivan-Webb.

• Major Pairs. Liz Thornberry and Jean­ette Wheeldon; Runners-up Dianne Slattery and KarenCox.

• Club Triples: Liz Thornberry, Deanna Noble and Gwen Haydon; Runners-up Jill Messenger, Dianne Mooney and Jenny Middleton.

• Club Fours: Jeanette Wheeldon, Jill Messenger, Di Mooney and Jenny Mid­dleton; Runners-up Joyce Boland, Deanna Nobel, Liz Thornberry and Gwen Haydon.

• Handicap Pairs: Jill Messenger and Liz Thornberry; Runners-up Penny Nash and GwenHaydon.

• Rose Bowl: Di Mooney; Runner-up Libby Balcombe.

• Consistency Singles: Jeanette Wheel­don; Runner-up Deanna Noble.

• Club Person: Leanne Stevenson

• Acknowledge Award: Sandy McDonald

• Monthly Point Score: Moyna Rue and Jill Messenger.

• Yearly Point Score: Liz Thornberry and Joyce Boland.

After the presentations, we proceeded to the Old Vic Inn where we all enjoyed a beautiful Christmas lunch.

Women’s Bowls will re-commence on 21 January 2025. Start time 8.30am to play at 9am. Merry Christmas to one and all.
