NSW Labor’s spokesperson for Orange and Barwon Stephen Lawrence MLC has welcomed the announcement of successful Central West road projects receiving funding as part of the $32 million Regional Transport Resilience Fund (RTRF).
Jointly funded by the Albanese and Minns Labor Governments, the RTRF will benefit Cabonne, Forbes, Parkes and Lachlan councils by providing them with vital funding to build flood-damaged road and transport infrastructure back better.
Mr Lawrence said the announcement of the successful projects came after many months of hard work and advocacy from local councils and various government departments working together on solutions.
“This critical investment from the Albanese and Minns Labor Governments will help our communities bounce back and provide vital road and transport infrastructure for future generations,” Mr Lawrence said.
“I look forward to seeing councils deliver these important projects and appreciate their advocacy and determination to deliver for local communities.”
Details of Regional Transport Resilience Fund projects in Cabonne Shire are as follows:
1. $3.78 million for installation of concrete floodways, table drains, box culverts, pipe culverts, headwalls and concrete decks at various locations across the council area.
2. $3.67 million for a package of bridge work including:
• raising the bridge deck at Canomodine Lane Bridge, Canowindra
• culvert upgrades on Edward Street, Molong
• replacing the Baghdad Road Bridge, Cargo
• raising the bridge deck at Ophir Road Bridge, Ophir
• work on the Kiewa Street footbridge, Manildra.
