Ladies Golf

On Thursday 12th September Canowindra Golf Ladies held their Open Tournament, 27 ladies played in wet and wild conditions with it raining most of the day. We had visi­tors from Cowra, Wentworth, Forbes, Con­dobolin and Wellington.

Results for the day were, Div 1 Scratch winner Annette Thomas 88 scr, R/Up Heather Davidson 93 scr, Nett winner Roz Partridge 74, R/Up Margaret Hobby 78, Stableford winner Lorrae Barker 29 pts, R/Up Eileen Wilson 28 pts, Div 2 Scratch winner Helen Kemper 103 scr, R/Up Cate Loud 110 scr, Nett winner Helen McSpad­den 79, R/Up Sally Perry 83, Stableford winner Collette Armstrong 26 pts, on a C/Back to Rose Carroll 26 pts as R/Up, Near­est the pin going to Denise Haesler Div 1, Helen Kemper Div 2, Cate Loud Div 3, Team event winners were Roz, Annette, Lorrae, Best over all winner for the day was Annette Thomas with 69 nett.

The golf ladies would like to thank Bryant Wool, Lawrence IGA, Canowindra Phar­macy, for their kind donations. Also a big thank you to the volunteers who maintain our wonderful course and to the bar staff Lisa and Troy.

Men’s Golf

On Sunday 15th September a 27 hole Par 3 Medley was held with See Saw Wines sponsoring the day which saw 18 golfers take to the course in cold and windy con­ditions, congratulations to Brian Moon on winning on the day with the R/up being Richard Fitzgerald.

It’s great once again to see so many social players taking to the course.

Next Sunday the 4BBB Championship will take place which is sponsored by Debbie Makin.

Don’t forget the Canowindra Men’s 27 Hole Golf Open is fast approaching on Sunday

13th October, shotgun start so be at the club at 9am for a 9.30am start, entry fee $50. Please contact the club for more infor­mation 6344 1342.
