Men’s Bowls

28 August, 2024 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

On Saturday we have very close game in the O’Brien Cup. Mathew Lawrence bounced back into form with Jamie Grant and had a win over Jenny and Brian McClintock 35/30. Jenny and Brian played well, which brought out the best in their opponents.

On Sunday the programmed games were postponed due to the weather, hopefully they will be played on 7th or 8th September.

Well done to Mitch McAllister who played in the Rookies zone four competition.

Jamie won his three games and then lost his opening game the following day, a great effort.

Games for next weekend are O’Brien Cup Mathew Lawrence and Jamie Grant play Jamie Stewart and Peter Taylor at 1:30pm.

On Sunday there are two consistency games. At 12pm Ben Rooke versus Jamie Stewart, marker David Beath. Then at 1pm Brian McClintock versus David Crowe, marker Brad Bourke.

The major and minor fours are due to close this weekend. We need more teams to nominate in the minors or the competition may be combined in one competition.

This is an open format so female players can be members of your team.

Don’t forget the major jackpot draws this Friday after meat tray draws. Badge draws are Wednesday $200, Friday $400 and Sunday $150. Congratulations to the Tigers Club on a great year.
