Last Tuesday the Canowindra High School Dance team travelled to Bathurst to participate at the Western Region Dance Festival, a two day festival for public schools across the region. It was a great opportunity for the students to perform on a professional stage, receive feedback and constructive critiques from seasoned dance teachers and see a wide variety of different dance styles.
The Canowindra High student’s item, “Love the Life That You’re Living” was a tribute and thank you to the skilled, energetic and dedicated people working as paramedics and nurses in our communities. It was one of 27 items in a varied program performed over the two days. The team showed growth in confidence and execution with every performance despite weariness setting in.
The dance was entirely choreographed by students, who can be very proud of their achievements. The choreography team consist ed of Emily Thomas, Bella Gordon, Georgia Wakeling, Claire Neville and Eadie Brown (also assisted by Nina Merchant).
