The Canowindra High girls soccer team travelled to Blayney on Thursday 16th May. Lillian scored the first goal after 10 minutes of great team attack, and another ball hit the nets in the 15th minute courtesy of Emily. A Blayney midfield player struck a good ball that edged just under the top post and it was 2-1. Pressure from the team caused the Blayney goalie and back to fumble and a ball from Lillian crossed the line. The halftime score was 3-1.
The girls headed eagerly into the second half, with midfielders Hannah, Molly, Bella and Holly putting some great balls through to the forwards. Canowindra held great formation in defence with Celeste, Eve and Georgie too strong for the Blayney side. Indi was strong all game and early in the second half, with some patience up front, Allie scored the 4th goal and created a healthy lead. Lillian struck again to make the final score 5-1. The girls are now in the Western area semi-finals with details to be advised.
