Don’t miss the exciting new exhibition at Rosnay Cellar Door ‘An Illustrated Life’ by illustrator Lisa Stewart, which will be officially opened on Saturday 1st June at 6pm.
The exhibition opening is free to attend and will include food created by amazing Chef Doreen Cumming, wine provided by Rosnay Organic and a short official opening and Q&A with Stephanie Li head of strings at Orange Regional Conservatorium and Lisa Stewart.
Lisa lives in Canowindra, her days are spent sketching, illustrating and, as a professional violinist teaching, performing and touring with Acacia Quartet. Lisa is an established illustrator with numerous books published. Lisa was shortlisted for the Chriton Award.
Lisa studied fine arts at the National Art School and has enjoyed residencies at Arthur Boyd’s Bundanon. Lisa’s illustrations have been exhibited at Dromkeen, featured on ABC TV’s Play School and the Sydney Opera House.
Following the exhibition opening will be a concert at 7.30pm by Acacia Quartet, one of Australia’s most respected string ensembles. They will be playing Tchaikovsky no.1 op 11, Lyle Chan Entering the Palaces and Borodin no. 2 string quartets.
Having recorded twelve albums, Acacia is known for presenting versatile and inventive programs which prominently feature Australia’s leading composers. Nominated for an APRA-AMCOS Art Music ‘Award for Excellence’ (2013), and Aria Music Awards ‘Best Classical Album’, twice (2013 and 2020), Acacia are renowned recording artists with their recordings regularly featured on radio around the world.
