Canowindra Pony Club Hosts Successful Dressage, Jumping & Gymkhana Weekend

15 May, 2024 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Winning Team of Four – 11 & u13 years – Canowindra Pony Club

On the weekend of 11-12th May, Canowindra Pony Club hosted an exhilarating weekend of equestrian events, drawing participants from far and wide to showcase their skills in dressage, jumping, and gymkhana competitions.

Despite Saturday’s drizzly weather, the dressage classes saw a remarkable turnout, with riders flocking from regions including Harden, Bribaree, Grenfell, Forbes, Orange, Molong, and Cudal, among others. Despite the challenging conditions, Dressage judges Jo Baker and Jackie Merchant adeptly managed the proceedings, ensuring a smooth and fair competition.

Sunday greeted participants with sunny skies, setting the stage for an action-packed gymkhana. Riders showcased their talents in various events including show riding, sporting, and show jumping. The event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of judges Clinton Hedger, Belinda Thornhill Wright, and Caitlin Kinsela, whose expertise and fairness were instrumental in making the day a success.

The Canowindra Pony Club extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participating clubs for their support throughout the weekend. Additionally, the club wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the numerous volunteers whose invaluable assistance played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event.

The Canowindra Pony Club Dressage, Jumping & Gymkhana Weekend was a testament to the equestrian community’s spirit and camaraderie, and the club looks forward to welcoming participants back for future events.
