Influenza is a serious, contagious illness. It’s easy to get your flu vaccine and recommended for everyone aged 6 months and over. The yearly flu vaccine offers the best protection against getting really sick and is free for:
• children aged 6 months to under 5 years
• pregnant women
• Aboriginal people aged 6 months and over
• anyone aged 65+
• people with serious health conditions
People over 5 years of age should book a flu vaccine through their doctor, pharmacy or Aboriginal Medical Service. Parents with children aged under 5 should book with their doctor or Child and Family Health Nurse.
Canowindra and Eugowra community health will be running flu vaccination clinics for people aged 65+ from the end of April through the first two weeks of May.
Phone Eugowra MPS 6850 4000 or Canowindra Community Health 6364 4350 for an appointment now, as clinics are limited.
