Canowindra’s hammer thrower Emily Thomas has been chosen to represent the Regional Australia Team in the Open Hammer at the Oceania Games in Fiji in June.
The Australian Championships held in Adelaide over the past two weeks have been a big success for Central West Throwers. The new hammer cage has already worked it’s magic with our throwers in their preparation for the event. CWT had 14 athletes travel to Adelaide to compete in the senior and junior competitions. The team came away with a massive haul of medals and personal bests, and one very happy coach – Ernie Shankelton. Ernie’s attention is now on his athletes who have been named in the Australian and Regional Australian teams heading to the Oceania Games being held in Fiji from 1st to 9th June.
