This year, the volunteers of the Canowindra Challenge have worked hard to pull together and bring you a week long Balloon Festival filled with many different activities to keep you entertained from April 20th through to April 28th, 2024.
I would like to extend a personal welcome to everyone who resides in our community, the surrounding towns and the many travellers and tourists who will come to Canowindra to see the spectacle that is the Balloons in full flight across our skies.
This event would not be possible without the wonderful balloonists and their teams who take the time to travel to Canowindra, and participate for the week, not only flying, but also joining our street parade and of course be the stars of the show for the Cabonne Community Glow. Without the pilots and their teams, we would not be able to hold a Balloon Festival, and our gratitude and thanks are extended to all of them.
As a first for 2024, The Canowindra Progress Association is hosting a Welcome To Canowindra Street Party. This will be held April 20th, with Gaskill Street being closed to traffic at 3pm and the party kicks off at 5pm. There will be a BBQ Competition, live music, food stalls from our local community groups – The Masonic Lodge, CWA and The Lions serving up delicious food.
The spectacular outdoor concert with Bjorn Again will be held at the Sports Oval on Friday April 26th with gates opening at 5pm.
Saturday 27th April, the delightful street parade will be held down Gaskill Street, then gates open at 3pm at the Canowindra Sports Complex for the Cabonne Community Glow. This year, the headline act will be country award winning artists Zac and George, closing out the night after the Balloons light up with their unforgettable show.
Other activities include school holiday programs with Alikinetic and Sue Hodge, open gardens, FlickerFest at Rosnay, The Canowindra Public School Trivia Night, Val Hood Psychic Night along with other activities to keep you entertained.
We can’t wait to welcome you to this year’s Canowindra International Balloon Challenge!
