Founder of cultural and strategic consultancy All Tomorrow’s Futures, Ana Tiquia, has been announced as the facilitator of a three day artists residency as part of Arts Out West’s ambitious future art project.
Expressions of Interest for the VISION 20/50 an (im)possible festival close today, Thursday 11th April.
“For this project we are looking for artists with the capacity to imagine big meaningful, impactful ideas for new art, people who can imagine an aspirational future for our region and the art in it,” explains Arts OutWest executive director Kylie Shead. “I’m sure working with Ana Tiquia will be a highlight of their experience in the project.”
Eight artists and their ideas will be selected for the project, involving a weekend residency with Ana Tiquia and project creative director Adam Deusien where they will delve into futurist thinking and further develop their concept.
Ana Tiquia is passionate about public participation in future imagining. Their work supports diverse and pluralistic ways to think about the future, technology, and change. For 15 years Ana has worked as an artist, strategist, cultural producer, and curator across art, technology, design, and futures research.
Fuelled up from the weekend residency the selected artists will then work with multi-media practitioners from the region to turn their concept into something that will be shared at a festival launch event at the end of this year.
