Enjoy free entry to the street party with live music, jumping castle and more.
Next Saturday, 20th April heralds the official start of this year’s Canowindra International Balloon Challenge.
With a week that is packed to the brim with activities, the first event to kick off the Balloon Festival is the Canowindra Street Party that will feature a BBQ Competition, live music with the Neil Gill band, jumping castle, face painting and lots more.
The Street Party is a free community event, but if you would like to show off your grilling prowess, there is a $20 BBQ Competition entry fee. With the BBQ Competition entry, you have your choice of five meats to cook on a fully supplied BBQ, BBQ utensils, all spices you require to season your choice of meat and you also receive a Canowindra BBQ Masters Apron to keep.
Three very important community groups in Canowindra – The Lions Club, The Canowindra Branch of the CWA, and The Masonic Lodge – will be in full swing serving up delicious food items with meat, salads, steak sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, meat and vegetable skewers and more.
Among the other exciting activities planned for the week are, Flickerfest at Rosnay, Canowindra Public School P&C Trivia Night, Art Workshops, Pop Up Choir with Nerida Cuddy, Art Displays, Alikinetic Dance School Holiday fun, Open Gardens, Wine Tastings and more. Closing out the Balloon Festival is the spectacular Bjorn Again concert on Friday 26th April, The ever popular Street Parade on Saturday 27th April and The Cabonne Community Glow, with gates opening at 3pm.
