Women’s Bowls

27 March, 2024 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Two games of social bowls were played on Tuesday 26th March. Joyce Boland, Jeanette Wheeldon and Libby Balcombe defeated Moyna Rue, Cierwen Jones and Cherie Vincent 28-16. Julie Wythes, Gwen Haydon and Karen Cox defeated Liz Thornberry, Daph Bryant and Jill Messenger 25-13.

Two games of Club Pairs were also played. Penny Nash and Christy Webb defeated Christine Pickard and Sandy McDonald 25-16. Jenny Middleton and Sharon Wynn defeated Betty Jenkins and Di Mooney 18-17.

The Semi Finals of the Club Pairs will be held next week.

Next week there will also be coaching at 12.30pm on Tuesday. The coaches from Forbes are very skilful and capable in Bowls and very keen to help us amateurs. This coaching hour is open to all ladies that would like to learn the game but have never held a bowl. Coaching is free and Annette and Brian (the coaches) will be here to help us all. Happy Easter to all.
