Swimming Success For St Eddies Students: St Edward’s students achieved some fantastic results at the Southern Region Swimming Carnival held last week in Cowra. Several students including, Jasper, Zoe, Tom, Sonni, Isaac and Bede have been selected to represent the Southern Region at the Bathurst Diocesan Carnival held Dubbo yesterday, Wednesday, 6th March. Results were not available at the time of print, however keep and eye out next week for a report.
Calling All Farmers: All farming landholders are invited to attend a community meeting with the Canowindra International Balloon Challenge committee will be held on Friday 22nd March at 6.30pm at the Canowindra Services Club. This will be an opportunity to ask questions, be informed about flight planning, weather amongst other items, and also participate in the 2024 event. Drinks and nibbles provided.
Have You Seen Wild Deer? Wild deer, primarily fallow deer, are becoming increasingly numerous in many parts of the Central Tablelands. There have been several motor vehicle collisions with deer in our region in recent months as well as reports of fallow deer destroying urban gardens in towns. Keep an eye out.
Community Catchup Cancelled: The Cabonne Council Community Catchup with the Mayor scheduled for toady, Thursday 7th March has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
Free Child Car Restraint Checks: Every year, many children are injured or killed in car accidents. Some of these injuries could be prevented or reduced if children occupy the right restraint for their size and weight, and if the restraint is installed correctly. Put your mind at ease. Bring your car to Canowindra Preschool, Cnr Ryall and Ferguson Streets on Tuesday 12th March between 3pm – 4pm to receive your free child car restraint check.
CWA Easter Friendship Morning Tea: Head along to the Canowindra CWA Hall in Blatchford St on Monday, 11th March for the next Friendship Morning Tea with CWA. March is the month of Easter this year, so there will be an Easter theme complete with chocolate Easter eggs on the table and other Easter treats. The ladies arre also working on a European style Easter cake. Children of course are welcome, as are men, ladies, members, non members, and anyone.
The next CWA Friendship Morning Tea will be held next Monday, 11th March.
