Canowindra joined in the Banjo Paterson Festival for the first time last Saturday night, playing host to a fun filled night of bush comedy, great entertainment and excellent food at the Canowindra Services Club.
The high energy, Australian Champion Bush Poets – Mel Hall and Susie Carcayhad had the crowd of over 120 people rolling with laughter.
It was the first year that Canowindra has participated in this annual Cabonne Shire event and it certainly was a great success, with audience members hailing from Canowindra, Parkes, Cowra, Eugowra, Orange, Gooloogong and even as far as Dunedoo and Sydney.
A huge round of applause to the world-renowned comedy duo of Melanie Hall and Susan Carcary. They perform regularly in Lightening Ridge and have been touring Australia since 2008. Their energy is boundless.
Thanks are extended to Pennie Scott, the MC for the night, who did a fabulous job controlling and entertaining the crowd. And to the organising committee that included Cheryl Wythes and Jenny Middleton, who are the Canowindra representatives for the Banjo Paterson committee. A lot of hard work went into making this night a huge success.
