The Canowindra Historical Society and Museum Inc have secured funding to purchase an industiral dehumudifier.
Successful Grant Funding For Historical Museum: The Canowindra Historical Society and Museum Inc have successfully secured a local not-for-profit organisation grant from the Independent Member for Calare, Andrew Gee.The Historical Society can now purchase an industrial dehumidifier, and temperature and humidity gauges to help conserve Canowindra’s history. Minimising temperature and humidity variations are essential to conserve paper, textiles, photos and any organic objects (e.g. leather and wood) successfully.
The Canowindra Historical Museum will be closed between Christmas day and New Years day. However, if given advance notice, the volunteers can usually open up the museum to people unable to visit at any other time. Cabonne Council, CHS And Canowindra Library Relocation: Cabonne Council would like to advise that the Council Office, Cabonne Home Support (CHS) and the Canowindra Library located in Gaskill Street will be relocating due to the redevelopment of the current facility. The Cabonne Home Support Office will close on Monday, 18th December and will reopen on Tuesday, 2nd January 2024; and the Council Office and Library will close on Friday, 22 December 2023 and will reopen on Tuesday, 16th January 2024. The new temporary location for all offices will be at the Masonic Lodge, 39 Blatchford Street, Canowindra.
The Cabonne CHS office and Library will be temporarily relocating to the Masonic Lodge.
