This Friday night, 24th November, the Canowindra Progress Association is proudly hosting the first annual Christmas Market to take place along Gaskill Street, to kick- off the Christmas celebrations in our town.
Cabonne Council together with the NSW Government is providing the funding for the Christmas Market to take place, and the entertainment on the night will offer something for everyone.
Over 45 market stalls will line the main street and the shops will be open for late night shopping, so you can be sure you can get all your Christmas shopping completed.
There will be a mechanical bull outside the Canowindra Services Club, a jumping castle, face painting and live music being performed outside Bill Paul’s Carpet Shop.
The Palms Markets has joined forces with the Canowindra Progress Association and will also have store holders on the main street, live music at the Palms and Alikinetic will have their Ninja Adventure Playground up and runningin addition to dance performances.
The Community Christmas Tree was set up last Friday outside Bill Paul’s shop in preparation for the coming festivities. With huge thanks to Tom Beath and his two “elves” – Kevin and Cooper, they safely put up the tree, complete with scaffolding all round, and joining them for the decoration side of things were members of the Canowindra Progress Association Michelle Fisher, Kim Roberts, Tommy Jeffs and Deb Clarke.
Get your singing voices ready and don’t miss out on the Christmas Carols that are being brought to the town by the UHA, 9th December at Memorial Park. There will be candles on sale for $2, Cranbury Jam will be performing from 6pm-7pm, Lions Club BBQ and a huge projector screen will display the words to the carols so everyone can be involved. There will also be a few extra surprise visits on the night.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas Canowindra.
