Barber Comes To Canowindra: In approximately five weeks, Brother Fox is coming to Canowindra to offer their services. Brother Fox is a barber shop that has been operating in Cowra for the last six years, and in that time has developed an enviable reputation of offering a truly unique and professional experience for quality styling. Tommy Jeffs has generously offered a space at Montrose House for Brother Fox to set up a pop up barber shop – complete with the barber’s chairs. This whole idea came about when an older gentleman in our community who is battling dementia, preferred a male barber to cut his hair. Canowindra Public School Art Show: The opening night of the Canowindra Public School P&C student art exhibition will be on Friday, 20th October, and tickets are currently on sale. Along with the artwork for sale, the P&C will also have an order form where you can acquire extras featuring the artist’s artwork, such gift cards, coffee mugs, and posters.

Architecture And History Walks: Twentieth Century Heritage Society of NSW & ACT invite you to join them for an architecture and history walk of Canowindra and Cowra led by heritage architect Dr Roy Lumby. You’ll discover the rich architectural heritage and the fascinating social history of these two towns.This Saturday afternoon, 30th September Roy will lead a walk through the centre of Canowindra, before dinner at The Quarry Restaurant in Cowra (optional, at extra cost). Venture out for two walks on Sunday. In the morning, Roy will take a walk along the main street in Cowra, exploring the town’s architecture and history. After lunch, spend the afternoon at the Cowra Japanese Garden. Tickets are limited, so be sure to book early via Eventbrite.
