‘Fields Of Gold’ Canola Tours

6 September, 2023 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The paddocks of canola are a drawcard for the region.

As fields of yellow canola transform the landscape, more dates have been added for Cowra’s signature ‘Fields of Gold’ guided tours of the region this Spring.

With three experiences on offer, visitors can choose from a bus tour, joy flight or hot air balloon ride, to see the canola. If you can’t decide, do them all over a weekend!

The two-hour ‘Fields of Gold’ guided bus tours offer photo opportunities at canola hot spots and ends with a local wine tasting. They run on weekends from 9am to 4pm from the end of August until October from the Cowra Visitor Information Centre.

The ‘Scenic Canola Flights’ with Fly Oz offer a dazzling view from a plane, including Wyangala Dam and Canowindra.

The ‘Balloon Joy Flight’ takes you up in a hot air balloon at sunrise across the the picturesque Belubula Valley and finishes with a champagne breakfast at Montrose House.

Cowra Tourism also expressed the importance of safety when canola touring. “We ask that our visitors be mindful that canola fields are on private property and are not to be entered. The best way to capture that instagram worthy shot is by booking a Canola Tour,” said Kurt Overzet, Cowra Tourism Manager.

For more information and bookings, visit www.visitcowra.com.au/canola or contact the Cowra Visitor Information Centre on 6342 4333, open 7 days a week 9am – 5pm.
