The Josephite sisters unveiled the special commemorative stained glass window above the door in St Edward’s Church, this was organised by Father Laurie over the past months. The sisters present all received flowers.
Celebrating The Sisters Of St Joseph In Canowindra: Last weekend the parish of St Edward’s Church, Canowindra celebrated its 115 year association with the Josephite order of nuns with a mass and the unveiling of a new transom window. The stained glass window was commissioned by the parish and made by Bridget Thomas of Finglinna Studio, Sofala. Installation of the window the day before the unveiling was carried out by Dave Turek of O’Connnell. The window depicts a ghost gum and the adjacent former convent building. In the centre is a pre-fusion cross painted floating in the middle of sandblasted glass.

Canowindra Progress Association: The Canowindra Progress Association met last Monday night to discuss a range of items that impacts the community. The highlight of the meeting was the attendance by Rebecca Johnson from Cabonne Council, who presented the artwork submissions that will be installed on the outside of the Canowindra Services Club, opposite Memorial Park. Submissions are still undergoing the final decisions, but it was great to see the calibre of work put forward by the talented artists.

Canowindra Balloon Festival Update: Next April, 20-28th 2024, the Canowindra Balloon Committee are calling for residents of Canowindra to become involved in the week long festival and dress your letterbox up to the theme of ‘the balloons’. A residents’ competition will be run and prizes given out for the Best Dressed Letterboxes.
