SMALL ACRES CYDER NAMED CHAMPION CIDER: Small Acres Pink Lady Apple Cider has been named Champion Cider at the 2023 Sydney Royal Beer & Cider Show. “We are thrilled with this accolade. We have received a number of awards at previous Sydney Royal Beer & Cider Shows, which gives us confidence in the consistency of quality that the Orange region can produce,” says co-owner Nick Geoghegan. The Sydney Royal Beer and Cider Show also awarded a Gold Medal for the Small Acres Cyder Pommeau 2021 and a Silver Medal for Heritage Blend.
AWARD RECOGNITION FOR CANOWINDRA AMBULANCE OFFICERS: On Sunday the 20th of August 2023 NSW Ambulance officers stationed in Canowindra will be presented with medals regarding their service and achievements within the organisation.The medal recipients are three extremely deserving staff members which includes; Chris Dorrey who will be receiving the pandemic medal to acknowledge the workload he bared during the Covid-19 Pandemic, Lauran Harrison who will be receiving the long service and good conduct medal, as well as the nation medal and finally, Laura llaurado who will be receiving 10 year long service and good conduct medal. The staff at the Canowindra Ambulance Station have a combined 96 years of experience and knowledge, leaving Canowindra grateful for their contributions to the community
MID-LACHLAN LANDCARE WEEKLY LUNCH: Each Wednesday at 1pm members of the Mid-Lachlan Landcare Group meet up at Thai 44 to catch up for lunch. CANOWINDRA HISTORICAL SOCIETY SPECIAL GUEST: On Friday the 4th August, the Canowindra Historical Society & Museum Incorporated was extremely excited to host Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales and Mr Wilson at the Canowindra museum. The volunteers were able to show the prestigious guests some of the more unique and interesting items in the collection. Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales and Mr Wilson got to experience the rich history that Canowindra has to offer and walked away from the experience with lots of local knowledge.
