Canowindra High School is ecstatic to announce they will be hosting the Inaugural Hospitality Interschools Competition on Friday, 25th August. The competition is opened to all year 11 Hospitality students and will allow students to showcase their skill and knowledge on the subject.
The four competition categories will include; Champion Barista, Signature Dish, Dessert Mystery Box and the Entrepreneur Challenge.
The two judges for the day will be local café business owner and qualified barista Mrs Tammy Nash and Mrs Karen Stuttle an RTO trainer with over 26 years of experience in international hotels and restaurants.
Both judges are extremely passionate about this event, with a love of instilling confidence and competence into their students of the lifelong skill of cooking. Up until now, work placements and in-school learning have been the only options for students to grow their skills, however, this competition will provide a new, fast-paced environment designed to push and test the students.
Following the completion of the competition, there will be an afternoon tea in the library from 3:30pm whilst judges discuss final winners. Winners will be announced at 4pm during the awards ceremony and official photography session.
