Raven Handcrafted Designs will be just one of the stalls offering hand made designs at the Makers Market.
Canowindra’s Inaugural Makers Market This Sunday! Head out to Rosnay this Sunday, 23rd July for a wonderful day out at Canowindra’s very first Makers Market. This market is a carefully curated event, with over 14 hand-picked stall holders. It is a free event with a great variety of hand-made items, upcycling, vintage clothing and home-wares, leather items, honey, hand-painted silk scarves, botanic printed woollen scarves and clothing, all-natural skin and personal care products, illustrations, paintings, textiles, stationery and much, much more.
Everyone is encouraged to head out to Rosnay, with plenty of space for children to stretch their legs, while parents try the excellent selection of organic Rosnay wines, and fig and olive products.
Palms Markets: Another fabulous event to attend this weekend is the Palms Markets in Gaskill Street on Friday, 21st July. Bringing you lots of entertainment, including live music by Lusi Austin, the Palms Market is a monthly favourite in the Canowindra entertainment calendar. You’ll find plenty of market stalls, food, wine and beverages on offer to enjoy around the fire buckets. See you at the Palms July Markets.
Be Vigilant, Varroa Mite In Our Area: Surveillance and tracing work has confirmed a new detection of Varroa Mite in beehives at a site in the Gumble area, west of Molong.
The detection is the result of a legal movement from Sackville North in April 2023. At this time Sackville was in the blue zone, and movement was identified in early July when the area updated to a red zone, leading to surveillance of both sites. Anyone with hives currently located within this area are strongly encouraged to ensure they are registered and notify DPI where their hives are on 1800 084 881.
NSW DPI is confident in the tracing work which has uncovered this infestation, and there is an immediate ban on hive movements within a 25-kilometre perimeter, with extensive surveillance of any nearby hives underway. For more information visit www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/varroa
