On one of the coldest footy days, the Tigers came from behind to score a convincing win, 30-16 against Oberon. In the first half of the game, the Tigers were behind 16-0 and at one time only had 11 players on the paddock. Shortly before half time the Tigers fought back and scored under the post twice by Shiem Marina to trail 16-12. Oberon had one of their players sent from the field and the Tigers took advantage of this. This resulted in a try out wide by Seimeine Saile (Ofver) and all 3 tries were converted by Logan Harris to put the Tigers in front at half time, 18-16.
Josh Cooney scored the first try in the second half, which was converted by Joe Treasure to lead 24-16. It was a tough struggle in the middle with both sides trying to get the advantage, then a clearing kick by Marina sent it onto Aaron Earsman to score and converted to finalise the score at 30-16. A gallant effort by the Canowindra Tigers.
League Tag had a solid win 28-18 and the Juniors went down to Grenfell 30-16 on Sunday.
This Friday, 2nd June the Tigers will come up against CSU first followed by the league tag. Check their Facebook page for more information.
