Tommy Jeffs is excited to bring it back the Balloon Festival street parade for 2023.
In its third year, the annual Balloon Festival street parade will be one of the festival highlights.
The Parade will kick off from 10am on Saturday, 15th April with live music including a busking competition, local Alikinetic dancers, Torsian Ballet School Cowra, vintage cars and tractors, Canowindra SES, Moorbel RFS, a vintage Bedford fire truck, children from local schools and of course the balloonists.
There will be a live performance by a big band from Wellington accompanied by the Vogue Dancers.
The balloon committee are also encouraging local children to be involved by dressing up, decorating their bikes, prams, scooters and skateboards to meet at the Junction Hotel end of Gaskill Street at 9am, with prizes for the best decorated.
Keep eye out for next week’s edition for our kids craft and colouring competition. Local shops will have the opportunity to compete in a best dressed window display.
The Lions Club will be holding a BBQ in the main street and the ladies from the CWA will have breakfast all day in the CWA Hall in Blatchford Street.
Tommy Jeffs has put his heart and soul into the event and he will also be hosting a cocktail party for the balloonists.
After a day of exploring, head to the Canowindra Sports Oval for the Cabonne Community Balloon Glow. Gates open at 3pm, tickets are available at www.canowindrachallenge.org.au.
