Families and friends gathered to enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the Bowlo, with live music, kids entertainment and a sausage sizzle.
The Canowindra Bowling Club was a packed house last Sunday, 18th December for the first Sunday Session since 2019.
Hosted in conjunction with Canowindra Music and Events Co. the event was a huge success, with everyone young and old gathering to enjoy the live music and entertainment on offer.
The spectacular weather set the scene, for a great family day out, with people enjoying the alfresco area and kids playing on the greens and enjoying the craft table.
Megan Woods Music was the highlight of the evening, playing everything from her own music to crowd pleasing classics.
The Canowindra Junior Cricket Club hosted the BBQ and sold lolly cups, raising over $200 for their club on the day.
The next Sunday Session at the Bowlo will be held on Sunday, 26th February with the soulful tunes of Lueth Ajak. The Canowindra Public School will be the featured community group for the month and will be hosting a BBQ and selling treats for kids.
Community groups are asked to contact Canowindra Music and Events Co. if they would be interested in fundraising at the upcoming sessions.
The live music took a massive hit during COVID, so it is great to see it returning to local venues. Of course, the timing could not be better for small communities like Canowindra, who certainly deserve the opportunity to relax and reconnect with following a trying few months.
