Steph Cooke Visit: Steph Cooke, Cabonne Council and Brigid Rice, NSW SES Deputy Zone Commander visited local SES sheds and Cabonne communities on Friday, 18th November. Steph had a tour of Canowindra with SES Members Craig and Jeanette, visiting East Street, George Russell Drive and the lane behind the shops. The Canowindra Unit would like to thank Steph, Brigid and Cabonne Council for taking the time to visit.
Toy and School Equipment donations for Eugowra: Eugowra CCC is looking for donations of new toys for local kids, and supplies for our preschool and schools that have been affected by the floods. Country Foundation Live Music Event: It is shaping up to be a great night out in Canowindra on Saturday, 26th November with the CEF putting on a live music fundraising event at Canowindra showground. With a food stall, bar and live music from 7pm it is set for a family friendly outdoor event featuring the amazing musical talents of local band Cranbury Jam. In light of the recent floods, the CEF will be making a donation from money raised to the schools affected by the floods and scholarships for kids to further their education and training. Canowindra Christmas Shopping Night: The Canowindra Christmas Shopping Night will be held on Thursday, 1st December. Enjoy buskers, Christmas displays, late night shopping and a meal from any of our local restaurants. The night will commence at 4pm and go through to 8pm. More than 12 shops will be participating in the evening. More detailed in next week’s edition, with a full list of participating stores.
Vinnies: Vinnies re-opened on Tuesday, 22nd November. They received significant flood damage to their back room, so while they encourage you to visit the store they request no further donations at this time.
Santa’s Cookie Studio: Sugarloaf Studios will be hosting Christmas themed photos at the Canowindra Phoenix Office from November 25th. Prices are $90 for a 20-minute session. Please note bookings are essential on 0408 455 308.
