Canowindra Show Young Woman and Rural Acheiver: On Saturday, 17th September the 2022 Canowindra Show Young Woman interviews were conducted. The entrants certainly wowed the judges! They were impressed by their passion, maturity and poise. Thank you to the wonderful judges Molly Wright, Michael Payten and Lyn Russell. The winner will be announced next week at the Canowindra Show on Saturday, 24th at 2pm.
The Queen and Australian Legal Tender: There’s been lots of media attention since Queen Elizabeth II died about changes to Australian coins and banknotes.
The Royal Australian Mint has advised that a Palace-approved effigy of Kin Charles III is likely to be provided to the Royal Australian Mint by the UK Royal Mint in due course.
The Reserve Bank of Australia says there will be no immediate change to Australian banknotes. The $5 banknotes featuring the image of Her Majesty The Queen can continue to be used. They will not be withdrawn and are likely to remain in circulation for years to come.
The reigning monarch has traditionally appeared on the lowest denomination of Australian banknotes. The Reserve Bank will provide further updates in due course.
ReachOut Launches New Support Tool for Young People: ReachOut is the most accessed online mental health service for young people and their parents in Australia, and now its scope is about to grow with the recent launch of “ReachOut PeerChat” – an evidence-based, one-to-one digital peer support service for young people across Australia.
PeerChat is a free service, available to young people aged 18–25 years old and each session runs for 45 minutes. PeerChat is currently available five days a week (1–9pm Monday to Thursday, 10am – 6pm on Friday). To access the service, young people can simply head to ReachOut.com/PeerChat to make a booking.
