Mining Resources Boost Cabonne

8 September, 2022 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Applications have opened for round nine of the NSW Government’s Resources for Regions program, to pave the way for new projects that will improve amenities and infrastructure across the Electorate.

NSW Nationals Upper House MP Sam Farraway said the $140 million round nine will deliver projects that improve local facilities for mining communities, while creating new jobs and providing work for local tradespeople and suppliers.

“This is great news for the communities of Orange, Cabonne and Parkes and I am thrilled that the NSW Government is able to show an ongoing commitment to delivering projects that benefit these communities and improve our way of life,” Mr Farraway said.

“We’ve seen the benefits provided by previous Resources for Regions rounds, including the activation works for Cabonne’s Molong and Canowindra as well as the replacement of town and village entrance signage throughout the shire,” Mr Farraway said.

“I’m pleased that even more projects are on the way, from public pools to skate parks and everything in between, strengthening community ties and developing social prosperity in the Central West.”

Mayor of Cabonne Kevin Beatty said he is pleased that the funding will deliver infrastructure that will increase ‘liveability’ across the shire.

“These rounds of funding improve our way of life and ensures that our local towns such as Molong and Canowindra aren’t left behind and forced to play catch up in infrastructure,” Mr Beatty said.

Applications for Resources for Regions round nine close on 30th September 2022. Further information about Resources for Regions round nine, including program guidelines and eligibility criteria are available at: www.nsw.gov.au/resourcesforeregions
