Art students from across the local region have been learning about the fundamentals of art and have been busily creating a beautiful portfolio of artworks at The Little Art Company art school over the past six weeks.
Students were given the opportunity to experiment and discover professional techniques in six different art mediums including watercolours, acrylic, impasto, chalk pastel, oil pastel and plaster sculpture.
The course introduced students to the elements and principles of art that assisted them in creating their artworks which were based around familiar country themes such as their own pets, farm animals, Australian animals and the region’s iconic buildings and landscapes.
The young artists have been successfully given a broad education in the essential fundamentals of art creation.
Signed, sealed, framed and ready to be displayed, the young artists are incredibly excited to share their creations and masterpieces with the community at this weekend’s exhibition opening from 5pm-7pm this Friday 2nd September 2022.
The whole community are invited to come and join the young artists at the Art Gallery at 70 Gaskill Street to celebrate the student’s success in completion of the mentoring program. This is the second young artists mentoring program that has been run on behalf of Canowindra Art Gallery in 2022.
The exhibition will be on display from 10am – 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.
The program was made possible with the funding from the Sally Foundation through FRRR. The Sally Foundation developed the Canowindra Youth Arts Development Program for young artists.
The Youth Arts Program is targeted at late primary and high school students with skills and/or a love of art to go beyond basic arts education. The program holds weekly mentoring sessions with local professional artists and puts on a themed exhibition at the conclusion of the program.
