What an amazing day last Friday with our first round of the Rural Cup. The weather in Molong was fantastic and our students were exceptional – their positive attitude, friendly competitiveness and great camaraderie are to be congratulated and, as principal, made me extremely proud.
All of Year 7 and 9 students will undertake tests in Literacy and Numeracy on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week as part of the national NAPLAN program. Parents and our school will receive the results of these tests next term with the information being used to help determine individual student learning needs as well as whole school literacy and numeracy strategies.
In addition to the NAPLAN testing this week our students will have the opportunity to once again test their sporting prowess with the annual athletics carnival on Friday. The success of these events is enhanced when our parents and community share in the excitement of the day and we would like to invite you to come along and be part of the fun.
The 2013 Annual School Report (ASR) is a compact summary of our school’s achievements and targets during last year. The compilation of the document is made possible through the efforts of staff, students and community members who are actively involved in our school and the educational opportunities we provide. The 2013 ASR will be uploaded to our website this week and I encourage parents to take the opportunity to read it.
A student’s education is a partnership between home and school and its success is dependent on good communication. If parents wish to speak with a staff member we encourage you to contact the school and please not through their personal home number.
Congratulations and best wishes to Carmel Bryant on her recent retirement. Carmel has been a cleaner at Canowindra High School for the past 38 years and we thank her for her hard work and dedication to our school.
CONGRATULATIONS to Will Burrows on being last week’s Canteen voucher winner.
