The Phoenix Group of Newspapers has delivered on its commitment to always bringing its readers free news by launching mobile apps for its network of newspapers, including The Canowindra Phoenix.
With many other regional media outlets now hiding their content behind online pay walls, The Canowindra Phoenix has done the opposite, bringing free local news to the pockets of all locals that can be accessed 24/7.
Whilst The Canowindra Phoenix has always been free in both print and online, through its website, The Canowindra Phoenix app gives readers the opportunity to access local news directly on their mobile phone or tablet.
Phoenix Group of Newspapers owner Joshua Matic said this was a game changer for residents of the Group’s coverage areas of Cowra, Canowindra, Forbes and Parkes in accessing free local news.
“We all know that paid newspaper sales are down exponentially, and that people become annoyed when having to pay to read an article online,” he said.
“Our unique business model allows us to deliver the best local news each week absolutely free of charge, and I would like to thank all of our regular advertisers for making this possible.”
“The best thing is we will still continue to deliver our traditional platforms, including our weekly printed newspapers, which are available in all of our towns completely free, with around half of our printed copies being mailed to rural roadside mail boxes for free too.”

Business Listings will also be available for interested businesses on the app, with businesses categorised based on their industry.
Business listings for local businesses can be arranged for as little as $11 per week.
