Eugowra CWA To Open Op Shop

16 June, 2022 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The Eugowra CWA recently farewelled Jenny Jones pictured with Margaret Swift.

The members of the Eugowra CWA have been very busy preparing the local rooms for the “Op Shop” opening on 16th July from 8am to 2pm. The room has been painted and shelves are being put in place and signs are being made.

Local members Margaret, Frances and Bozena reported on their week at the 100th Conference of CWA of NSW at Randwick Racecourse. Joy Beames from the Dunedoo Branch was elected State President and will be opening the Central Western Group Conference in October.

Stephen May from LEEP programme addressed the recent meeting explaining that free lessons will be available for members to learn computer skills. The lessons will be conducted in Canowindra or Orange and some iPad and iPhones will be available to purchase at a discounted price.

Member Jenny Jones was recently treated to a farewell lunch, as she is moving to Bundanoon, with all members sad to see her go. Jenny was presented with a farewell gift of a CWA centenary coffee mug and her membership was transferred to the Exeter Branch. Bozena provided lunch of Polish roasted barley soup followed by caramel cream puffs.

Eugowra CWA were successful in raising $500 by checking into the Essential Energy website every hour over three days.

RAMP will conduct a FREE one day course, “Responding to suicide in the community,” in the Eugowra CWA Rooms on Tuesday 5th July from 9am to 3pm, lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to 0436 921 076 for catering purposes.

The next CWA Meeting will be held on Friday 8th July 2022 at 11am.
