Canowindra’s main street’s not quite straight
Built by navvies, one over the eight
But the town has a charm
To delight and disarm
And the people who live here are great
There’s sunshine galore all the while
With blue skies for mile after mile
So could someone explain
Why we’ve had so much rain
I can get that at home in Carlisle.
On my trip I have been wined and dined
For the folks here have all been most kind
So to all I’ve met here
I give thanks most sincere
It’s a shame I must leave it behind
But it’s over, alas and alack
And it’s time to head off down the track
But I give you fair warning
You’ll wake up one morning
And find just like Arnie, I’M BACK!
