The Annual Cabonne Acquisitive Art Prize has returned for 2022. It is an annual art prize and exhibition that aims to foster a sense of identity, pride and place in Cabonne whilst encouraging and showcasing the high calibre of creative talent in the region.
The winning artwork will be acquired by Cabonne Council and join Michael Carroll’s 2020 painting “Gordon’s Garden” and Amanda Holman’s 2021 painting “Storms Gathering Over Mt Canobolas” which are now in the Cabonne Council Art and Heritage Collection (to be established).
There are also two other categories that will capture the young artistic talents of the Cabonne area.
Prizes for this year include $4,250 and artwork acquired by Cabonne Council for the winner.
In the Cabonne Art Prize (Secondary School) category:
• 1st place will receive $200
• 2nd place will receive $150
• 3rd place will receive $100.
For the Cabonne Art Prize (Primary School) category:
• 1st place will receive $100
• 2nd place will receive $75
• 3rd place will receive $50.
There is also the popular People’s Choice Prize who will receive $1,000.
Applications for the prize close on Friday 27th May with the exhibition of selected artists being held from 12th-21st July 2022.
