Kalang Fossil Discovery Working Day: The Age of Fishes Museum advises that a working day will be held on Sunday 15th May at 9am at Kalang to clear the groundcover and discover/identify fossils, upwards from Dr Ritchie’s original Fossil Dig Site. Activities include weed pulling, shovelling dirt to expose the bedrock, upturning rocks and washing rocks to discover and identify fossils. Things to bring include gloves, shovels, mattock, sitting stools and a portable sunshade if available. St Edwards P&F: Are excited to announce a new look committee for 2022 led by new President Emma Millward, Sarah Maynard as Vice President, Jacinta Sargent as Secretary and Bec Brown as Treasurer. The P&F are contributing $10,000 to the school after a busy year of fundraising in 2021 which will go towards a “wish list” put together by students and teachers for resources needed for the children at the school.
ANZAC Day: The Canowindra RSL Sub-Branch would like to advise the community that ANZAC Day will back to its normal schedule this year. Dawn Service 6am at Memorial Park and the Main Service will commence once the March arrives at Memorial Park at approximately 11am. If people would like to march they will need to be at the corner of Ryall and Gaskill streets at 10:45am.
The Canowindra International Balloon Challenge winner for 2022 was Ed Saunders of Victoria flying in the pink Zonzo Balloon, 2nd place went to Matthew Scaife and 3rd place to Nicola Scaife both from the Hunter Valley, pictured with Andrew Pull, Jamie Jones, Andrew Gee, Kevin Beatty and Adam Barrow.
