On the first Monday of the month a small group of women from all walks of life meet at the Anglican Church Hall in Canowindra at 2pm for a Friendship Group.
The group started about 10 years ago in Canowindra as an outreach group for senior women in town who were lonely.
Today the group, guided by Nola Meggit has expanded through word of mouth. “Anyone in need of company is welcome to our Friendship Group, it is a great way of connecting with others in town from all walks of life,” said Ms Meggit.
“We try and have the occasional fun afternoon including music, fashion shows, flower arranging or a guest speaker. Or often we just sit and have a cup of tea and a chat all together,” continued Ms Meggit.
Recently the group were treated to some fabulous entertainment by the Nu Vogue Dancers from Canowindra including Gayle Davis and Graham Aylen who demonstrated some dancing from the Strauss era.
