The Lions Club of Canowindra presented a generous donation of $6,650 to Ronald McDonald House, Orange, at the Australia Day Ceremony, held at the Canowindra Services Club on Wednesday 26 January.
The funds were raised through The Driver Reviver program ($3,000), The Lions Club of Canowindra ($3,000) and a raffle that was held at the Canowindra Services Club, by the BMW Touring Club.
The Driver Reviver in Canowindra is a joint collaboration with Lions Club, CWA, Cornerstone, Ladies Hospital Auxiliary, Canowindra Mens Shed, The Central West Team Penning and the Vintage Car Club of Cowra also come along, giving up hours of their time, to ensure the safety of drivers and the importance of taking a break.
“Thank you so much, and on behalf of the families and future families that may need to use Ronald McDonald House Orange, we can’t do this without the generous contributions and donations of the charities in the Central West. This donation is fabulous,” stated Rebecca Walsh, Executive Officer, Ronald McDonlad House, Orange.
“Since 2015 we have helped nearly 1,000 families come through the service and when you work out the savings to those families, in accommodation costs it equates to around $1.1 million dollars in accommodation savings for those families who stay at Ronald McDonald House in Orange.”
