Member for Orange Philip Donato MP met with St Edwards School principal Ken McNamara and P&C President Kristy Crosby to officially announce their successful grants funding application of $10,000 for the resurfacing of their courts and playground area.
Member for Orange Philip Donato MP visited Canowindra recently to officially announce St Edwards Primary School and the Canowindra Bowling Club as successful grant recipients under the 2020 NSW Government-funded Community Building Partnership Grants Program.
St Edward’s Primary School P&F Association were successful in their application for $10,000 to be used towards the installation of a new multi-purpose surface at St Edward’s Primary School.
“This funding will deliver a new multi-purpose playground surface at St Edward’s Primary, this will provide students with a much safer and dynamic area to play a variety of different sports and activities.
“Sport and play are such important aspects in a child’s school experience and provides opportunities for physical activity, improved health outcomes and improved social connections. I am happy to be able to support this improvement for St Edward’s and the Canowindra community,” said Mr Donato.
“We are extremely grateful to the NSW State Government for providing the grant money and to Phil Donato for the support in providing a new playground surface, it will be a great addition to St Edward’s P&F beautification program,” said Mandy Townsend, former P&F President.
The Canowindra Bowling Club were successful in receiving a $9,000 grant for a new picket fence around the bowling greens.
The 2020 round of funding under the Community Building Partnership Grants Program saw a total of $299,829 allocated to 20 projects across the electorate.
