Generous Donation: The Canowindra Public School has had an immense boost to their sports program with a donation of cricket and sporting equipment being generously given to the school by local business owner and parent, Eleena Markcrow. The donation was made to encourage kids to play outdoors and keep them active on the playground. Both of Eleena’s children are avid cricket players and with the new equipment are hoping more children will come forward to try their hand at the sport.
Merry Christmas from Local Land Services: With the ongoing pandemic, high levels of mice activity and now wild weather and flooding events, it’s been another challenging year for producers and communities. The Local Land Services team will be taking a short break over the Christmas period, and offices will be closed from 12pm Friday, 24 December 2021 and will re-open at 8:30 am Monday 10 January 2022.

The Votes Are In: The final result of the Local Government election were announced this week, with the confirmation of nine councillors to represent Cabonne Council for the new term. The candidates in sequence of election are:

• Peter Batten
• Andrew Rawson
• Kathryn O’Ryan
• Jenny Weaver
• Libby Oldham
Canowindra will be well represented throughout the next term by three local councillors including Andrew Pull, Kathryn O’Ryan and Jenny Weaver.
A total of 10,062 residential and non-residential electors were enrolled in the Cabonne area. The total turnout (ballots counted) was 8,454.
