It was a beautiful day at the Canowindra Gun Club for the Melbourne Cup Day gathering.
The members of the Canowindra Clay Target Club came together on a gorgeous day for a Melbourne Cup shoot. With great members and splendid food, it was for sure a time everyone there had thoroughly enjoyed.
“Our Melbourne Cup Day was a ripper; it was a beautiful day with great food and just a wonderful catch up.” Bill Gun said, president of The Canowindra Clay Target Club
“It was a success, we had 25 shooters which was very satisfactory with such short notice of the gathering.”
“The atmosphere with the people was very relaxed and congenial, being Canowindra’s first shoot since July because of COVID lockdowns,” he said.
With amazing scores and some top shooters on the fine day, Kim Nealon scored a perfect 200/200 with Jeff Nash close behind scoring a brilliant 199/200.
“Moving forward post COVID-19, we will be holding our regular shoots every third Sunday of every month excluding January,” Bill Gun stated. “Our November shoot will be held on Sunday the 21st at 11am. We will shoot 25 t DB, 45 t Central Zone Mixed Targets Championship, 30 t HCP.”
“Everyone will need to be double vaccinated in order to attend the day. We will have our usual world class BBQ sausages and refreshments. Hope to see everyone there!”
