Australian War Memorial set to reopen

The Australian War Memorial will reopen to the public – with a new temporary entrance – on Wednesday 17 November 2021. The new temporary entrance, on the eastern side of the main building opposite Poppy’s café, will be the main visitor entry point for the next three years as works on the Memorial’s Development Project continue. Areas of the Memorial will remain accessible to visitors throughout the Development Project, including Aircraft Hall, First World War Galleries, Second World War Galleries, and the Commemorative Area (including the Roll of Honour, Pool of Reflection, Eternal Flame, Hall of Memory and Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier). Australian War Memorial Director, Matt Anderson, said he was looking forward to welcoming visitors back in the coming weeks and that he encouraged everyone to book a free ticket online to guarantee entry. Visitors will require timed tickets to enter the Memorial galleries, and to attend the daily Last Post Ceremony at 4:45 pm in the Commemorative Area. More information on visiting the Memorial and booking free timed tickets is available on the website at: www.awm.gov.au/visit

Have your double vax and ready to discover NSW?

Things are beginning to open back up again and therefore regional travel is back for fully vaccinated people or those with medical exemptions. It is important to remain safe and take precautions where possible. As NSW Health stated that there has never been a better time to explore NSW, just be sure to do it safely:

• Check in with the Service NSW app, as this is how NSW Health will notify you if you go to the same venue as a positive COVID-19 case.
• Everyone that is 12 and over must wear a mask in all indoor venues and on public transport.
• Be sure to have your proof of vaccination or medical exemption.
• If you feel unwell, don’t travel. Please get tested and self-isolate at home until you receive a negative result.
• If you begin to feel unwell while away, get tested and isolate immediately until a negative result is received.
