There will be a raffle held by the Canowindra Rugby Union Club, which will draw a major prize – a jersey signed by the famous Rugby Union player Israel Folau in order to raise funds for the defibrillator for the Sports Oval. The raffle will be drawn at the end of the Night Rugby Match at the Club House during the Cabonne Country Balloon Glow where Canowindra will be versing Molong.
Tickets are $2.50 each and can be purchased at the Canowindra Newsagency and The Canowindra Phoenix. Tickets will also be sold on the night at the bar and the Club House. President Allan Wyburn (Westy) is eager to sell this personally signed jersey that he has only had in his possession for a few days.
“We wanted to contribute to raising money somehow for the defibrillator, it’s such a good cause and I’m sure this jersey will make some fan very happy”, Allan said. The Canowindra Phoenix challenges all other local clubs and sports associations to match our $100 donation. Canowindra Little Athletics has already contributed generously and so can you.
