Canowindra mum Jemma Woolley is helping to organise a safe, yet scary, Halloween trick or treating on Saturday.
She has made a Facebook event called ‘Canowindra Spook-tacular’ for those taking part in holiday tradition. Listed in the event are the addresses of those handing out lollies or where they’re walking.
Jemma said everyone can join in to make trick or treating a more communal experience, especially after the recent stay-at-home COVID-19 restrictions.
She said it’s a chance to have some fun and celebrate together.
“My kids have always enjoyed Halloween, dressing up and of course getting lol-lies,” she said.
“After being locked inside for such a long period of time it had a major effect on the kids. So I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get them out and have a little fun.”
Trick or treating starts at 4pm before heading to Canowindra Services Club.
“The kids are extremely excited to be able to get out, go door to door trick or treating and have fun with their friends in a way that they don’t usually any other day,” she said.
She asks that adults still wear face masks, carry hand sanitiser and have it available at houses. All lollies should be individually bagged.
Tracy Smith will be riding her horse about handing out lollipops. Between 6:30pm and 7pm parents and carers can bring their children to the Club to get lollies. There will be a prize for best dressed.
