Grants for community projects available
A seventh round of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme (SCP) offers $22.7 million worth of funding for a maximum of 20 projects across the Federal electorate of Calare.
Grants will be available between $2,500 and $20,000 for successful applications. SCP is designed to fund local projects to build social and community connections. By supporting small capital projects, the grants deliver social benefits by supporting community participation and contributing to the vibrancy and viability of communities.
For this special round, grant funding will be up to 100% of eligible project costs, except for local government councils where grant funding will be up to 50% of eligible projects.
Interested parties must submit an Expression of Interest by December 3 2021, to be considered by a consultation committee. Projects funded by SCP must be completed by December 31, 2022.
Canowindra Bowling Club was a recipient of a grant, receiving $12,200 for a new irrigation system.

Combine vaccination with check-in app
You can now include your COVID-19 double vaccination certificate in the Service NSW app.
The integration will mean people can show venue staff their vaccination status when they check in.
The technology is being rolled out across the state following a trial in regional clubs, aged-care facilities and taxi services. “This is an extra digital service to make life easier for the businesses and customers of NSW as we open back up,” said Customer Service Minister Victor Dominello.
“When someone visits a venue, they’ll be able to show their green check-in tick and vaccination status simultaneously, saving staff and customers time.”
This comes at a time when further relaxation of lockdown laws are expected. “NSW is the first jurisdiction in Australia to roll out an integrated QR code solution for displaying vaccination status statewide,” he said.
Travel between Greater Sydney and regional NSW was expected to resume on October 25, but has now pushed back to November 1.
