Our Bloke – Graham Kerr

14 October, 2021 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

How long have you lived in or around Canowindra? What do you like about living here? I’ve lived here 38 years. I love the change of seasons plus the best ballooning in Australia.

How are you involved with the community? I have been involved over the years with many community organisations.

Where do you work? What do you enjoy most about where you work? I own and manage Balloon Joy Flights but have now retired from flying.

What do you do to unwind on weekends? Model boat building and hatching more chickens.

What are you really good at? Dreaming about the future and travelling to exotic places.

What’s your pet hate? Negative people.

What’s on your bucket list? Travel to the Arctic Circle to see polar bears.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why? Teleportation because I wouldn’t have to worry about COVID-19 lockdowns or closed borders.

Tell us about your best holiday ever… Visiting the Garma Festival in east Arnhem Land and living with Aborigines in their homeland.

What makes your day? Trying to keep tabs on my very busy wife.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself… I was in the operating theatre as a technician for the first heart and kidney transplants in Australia. It gave me great joy and wonder to see the first heartbeat and urine flow of transplanted organs.
